Plain-English privacy note · Backlot OS

Your data never leaves
your studio.

Backlot OS is a self-hosted, open-source creative operations platform under the MIT licence. The product itself doesn't phone home, and the company (backlotos.com) only sees what you choose to send us — for now, that's the partner-program form on this site. Below is what that means in plain English.

§ 01

What we never do

  • Sell or rent your data. Not to anyone, ever.
  • Share your submission with third parties. The partner-program form goes to partner@backlotos.com and stops there.
  • Train AI models on your data. Not your form, not your briefs, not your assets, not your chat threads. Backlot OS is designed so that vendor calls go through your Dispatch log under your keys — we don't see them.
  • Track you across the web. No third-party trackers, no advertising pixels, no fingerprinting.
§ 02

What this site collects

  • Partner-program form fields you submit (name, work email, role, studio, the work you do, deployment preference, anything you write in the open boxes).
  • Standard server logs — IP address, user-agent, timestamp — kept ≤ 30 days for abuse prevention, then deleted.
  • Aggregate, privacy-preserving analytics on which pages get viewed. No cookies, no personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking.
§ 03

How we use what you submit

  • Reply to your pitch. A founder from the team reads it and gets back to you — usually within a week.
  • Onboard you if you become a founding partner — install support, weekly partner call, shared room.
  • Maintain a private record of your submission so we can pick the cohort thoughtfully. You can ask us to delete it any time.
§ 04

Self-hosted means yours

  • Backlot OS the software runs on your laptops, on-prem boxes, or private cloud. It stores briefs, brand kits, asset versions, and the Dispatch log on infrastructure you control.
  • No telemetry. The self-hosted build doesn't call backlotos.com. We don't see your clients, your campaigns, or your model usage.
  • Open source. The full server, CLI, agent runtime, and Vault are under the MIT licence. Read it, fork it, audit it.
§ 05

Your rights

  • Access: ask us what we have on you and we'll send it.
  • Delete: ask us to remove your submission and we'll do it within 7 days.
  • Update: let us know what changed and we'll fix it.
  • Withdraw: tell us not to follow up and we'll respect it.
§ 06

Reach the humans

  • partner@backlotos.com — for the partner program, privacy questions, anything.
  • Discord · The Ghost Ship — community of agentic builders where Backlot OS lives.
  • WhatsApp +92 300 234 0300 — direct line.
  • github.com/backlotos — code, issues, pull requests.
